My parents always wanted the best for me. The let me go experience the world with youth groups because my parents could not afford to take my brothers and I anywhere. I was able to go to theme parks, plays, theater, the mountains and the beach.
This may seem like no big deal but for a kid that is behind the same four walls its an experience. I tried to appreciate everything, take in the sights, the smell, and the food. I would close my eyes and imagine it all so that it could stay in my memories.
This is what i want, i want to take my kids one day, i want to go anywhere without being held back.
From early on my parents pushed school as the way out of poverty. So i did. I did not let anything hold me back because school was my ticket to get anywhere in life. So i pushed through and made it through. Now i can go anywhere.
